Good Day Falcons!

This is the LAST WEEK OF THE 1ST SEMESTER! Boy, how does time fly by! It has been a great 5 months spent together thus far! This week you have many things occurring. Be sure that you are staying active in class! The toy drive ENDS THIS WEDNESDAY! Do your part for our community and bring in a toy and share joy to those that are not able to be provided joy from their families!

3rd Six Weeks - Week 4

Good Day Falcons!

This is BENCHMARK WEEK! We will be taking 4 benchmarks this year, don't forget. Also, the toy drive that Student Council is hosting will start on Monday! Be sure to bring joy to others that are not as fortunate as we are.

Vanderbilt Homeroom, we will be testing in 2nd period all day. You know our room is cold, plan accordingly. Pull overs are not allowed. Bring a jacket, and a blanket if you need extra warmth.

We will be eating sack lunches in our classrooms on Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the week will be regular lunch.

This week we will also be writing letters to help "Make A Wish Foundation." This week, student council is having a coat drive! This will end on Friday, be sure to bring a jacket, sweater, or a hoodie!

3rd Six Weeks - Week 1



Good Day Falcons!

This is the first week of the third six weeks! We are almost done with the first semester of the year! This six weeks it is VERY IMPORTANT that you all are fully engaged in class! This Six Weeks is only 5 weeks, and one of those weeks is Benchmark week. This week we will be introduced to poetry and will also take a field trip to go see 'Wonder' in theaters!

Also don't forget: Student Council is having a food canned drive this week! It starts on Monday (11/13) and ends on Thursday (11/16). DO YOUR BEST TO BRING AS MUCH FOOD AS YOU CAN FOR THIS HOLIDAY BREAK!

Second Six Weeks - Week 5

Good Day Falcons!

This is the last week of the 2nd Six Weeks! The clock is just turning and it wont stop! This week we will have our Six Weeks Exam. As a reminder, I will be in the classroom a limited amount of time, so be on your best behavior! We have this week, next week, and then we are ready for Thanksgiving Holidays! We are having a limited amount of time in the classroom, so we need to capitalize on the time that we are in class.

Second Six Weeks - Week 4

Good Day Falcons!

This week is our last week of learning material. Next week is when we have Six Weeks Test all throughout the week. Our Six Weeks Test is going to be on Monday (11/6). Be sure to be going over your notes from writing essays and types of clauses. Progress Report Night is this Thursday at Peter Piper Pizza from 4-6. Be sure to go and recieve a 100 on your lowest grade!

Second Six Weeks - Week 3

Good Day Falcons!

This week is a VERY short week! We will have two days of instruction, I will be out with Student Council officers, the fall festival, and as a reminder, NO SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY! Let's do our best to make sure we are giving 100 percent at all times this week. In class, it may seem like things are a bit overwhelming, but do not fear! The material will be covered thoroughly throughout the year. Our fall festival is this Thursday. As a reminder for attire, you are allowed to come out of uniform ONLY IF YOU ARE WEARING A HALLOWEEN SHIRT OR A FALL SHIRT BUT THAT IS IT.

2nd Six Weeks - Week 2

This week we have a couple of reminders! You have a Vocabulary quiz this Wednesday on the following words: vague, concur, divergent, emulate, inconsequential, reconciliation, vindicate, fickle, congregate, congregation, tenacious, and mundane! Be sure to study, remember quizzes are 20% of your grade! Also, this Friday is the deadline for the Fall Festival Participation fee. Remember, it is $5 and you will be getting back 4 tickets back.

2nd Six Weeks - Week 1

Good Day Falcons!

This week is the beginning of the Second Six Weeks! It is a clean slate and a great chance for you to either continue your positive habits or discontinue your negative habits. This week there will also be a student council meeting this Wednesday at 7:30 AM in my classroom. Spread the word! On Monday, there will be fall pictures! Be sure to look your best! Report cards will be issued out on Wednesday (10/11).

This week is Six Weeks Testing! Your writing Six Weeks exam will be on Thursday October , 2017. There will be a two part review this week. Also, the end of the 1st Six Weeks will be this Friday (10/6), make sure you have all your work turned in! The Fall Festival is going to be on October 26, 2017. If you would like, there will be a $5 participation fee. With this fee, you will receive 4 tickets back to use in the festival.

Reminder, there are three possible grades that you can receive for it: 100, 70, or a 0. No exceptions. Please be reminded that if you do need help, I am available during lunch. 1st Six Weeks - Week 4


We are already two weeks away from finishing the first Six Weeks!

This week there are a couple of reminders to be reminded of! There will be a Progress Report night at Peter Piper Pizza from 4-6 PM. Parents are encouraged to come and speak to teachers about their students' progress in the classroom. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts money and order forms are due this Friday! Be sure to bring those orders in! Also, on Friday you will have your first Vocabulary Quiz over the following words: unfathomable, nonchalant, vigilant, abrasive, inevitable, fathom, feeble, inconspicuous, frank, and vindicate. Study your flashcards!

I am excited for you all to become excellent scholars in my classroom this year! This year, writing will be more detailed, more demanding, and be more informative. My goal is to get you all ready for high school.
